Peter Yesudian graduated fom the University of Glasgow in 1996, and spent one year in general dental practice, in Warwickshire. In 1997 he joined the Oral Surgery Department of Princess Margaret Hospital as Senior House Officer. As a busy unit, this gave ample experience in all aspects of Oral and Maxillo-facial Surgery.
Having always wanted to do some voluntary work, in 1999 he worked for 6 months as a volunteer dentist in Trinidad, as well as the interior of Guyana, South America. Access to dental care is limited and the work carried out there was exceptionally rewarding.
At the end of 1999, Peter returned to the UK as Senior House Officer at the Royal United Hospital in Bath. Once again he gained valuable experience in a busy unit. After a year he returned to Swindon as a member of staff of the Oral Surgery Department. He was a staff member of the Oral Surgery department of the Great Western Hospital, until 2006. Since then, he works exclusively in Specialist Dental Practice providing a high quality referral oral surgery and implant service. Continuing his interest in voluntary work, in October 2010 he spent two weeks in Kenya treating internal refugees.
In 2001, he was awarded the post-graduate degree of MFDS at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Glasgow. Also, due to his training and experience he was entitled to use the title of ‘Specialist’, awarded by the General Dental Council in 2001. The speciality he is listed in is 'Oral Surgery', which relates to all aspects of Oral Surgery carried out under local anaesthetic or sedation. Currently there are only 6 Specialists in Oral Surgery in Wiltshire.
Complex treatment is carried out at Wood St in Swindon. With the team consisting of a highly trained Endodontist, Periodontist and Prosthodontist, whole mouth reconstructions, and smile make overs can be carried out with a high level of expertise. www.onewoodstreet.net
